# Lead Capture

Stream **Lead Capture** shows a call-to-action (CTA) form when players join a stream. Use it to
collect email, name, and phone — and, when name collection is on, automatically submit guest
highscores without a second name prompt.

## Setting Up Lead Capture

1. Go to **Streams** and create or edit a stream
2. Open the **Lead Capture** step in the stream wizard
3. Toggle lead capture **on**
4. Customize the form title, message, and consent checkbox
5. Choose which fields to collect and when the form appears
6. Save the stream

## Form Fields

Each field can be set independently:

| Field | Options | Default |
| --------- | ------------------------------- | ---------- |
| **Email** | Required or Optional | Required |
| **Name** | Off, Optional, or Required | Off |
| **Phone** | Off, Optional, or Required | Off |

## Timing

- **After play** _(default)_ — the form appears when the game ends
- **Before play** — the form appears before the player starts; useful when you want contact details
  up front

## Highscore Name Reuse

When **all** of the following are true, DailyPlay does **not** show a separate “enter your name for
the highscore” prompt:

1. Lead Capture is enabled on the stream
2. The **Name** field is set to **Optional** or **Required** (not Off)
3. The game supports highscores

The name from the CTA form is reused to submit the guest highscore in one step.

| Timing | What happens |
| ------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Before** | The player enters their name once; after the game, that name is used for the highscore |
| **After** | The end-of-game CTA collects the name and submits both the lead and the score together |

:::note
If Name is **Off**, players with highscore-enabled games still see the normal guest name prompt
(when applicable). Enabling Name on the CTA is what removes the duplicate prompt.
:::

This is separate from the social scoreboard’s **Collect Player Name** toggle. That option is for
team scoreboard overlays when the stream CTA is **not** already collecting the name. See
[Social & Leaderboard](/streams/social-leaderboard/).

## Viewing Leads

Submitted leads appear in organization **Reports** under the **Leads** tab, including name, email,
phone, consent flags, stream/game context, and the player’s **score** when a highscore was recorded
with the submission.

You can filter by stream and export to CSV. See [Analytics](/sharing/analytics/#reports).

## Best Practices

- Turn **Name** on (Optional or Required) whenever the stream includes highscore games, so players
  only enter their name once
- Use **Before play** for gated events where you need contact details before gameplay
- Use **After play** when you want friction-free play first, then convert high engagers
- Pair Lead Capture with [Connections](/connections/overview/) to push new leads into your CRM
